Usb Serial Port Mac Os The VCP driver emulates a standard PC serial port such that the USB device may be communicated with as a standard RS232 device. The D2XX driver allows direct access to a USB device via a DLL interface. A simple serial port program has three main functions. First it should init the serial port, and then it should read data from the serial port and transmit data read from the serial port. The latter requirement means that two processes are necessary running simultaneously. In a Unix environment a serial port is accessed via a file descriptor. With luck your Windows program should now be able to use COM1 to access the USB device. Please remember that we don't officially support any programs that use serial ports. If you're still having trouble getting your application to work we may be able to do custom programming for your application to get it connected.
That's normal behaviour for a device of this type E., the OS is designed to see a serial connection as a network interface, you can simply ignore this. If the driver you've installed is FCP compatible and working correctly then I believe you should see your adapter as an available device control option in FCP.
