Download firmware for digital rifle scopes and binoculars (firmware being the built-in software that runs your devices). Before proceeding please read instructions below. No downloads are available for products that are not listed.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Please note that a compass calibration needs to be performed after installing the Firmware that activates the ATN Radar on your device.

Before powering up your unit for use:

  1. Verify the current FW version that is on your device.
  2. Download current Firmware update according to the 'Update Instructions.' If your Firmware is up to date, skip these download instructions and proceed to step 3.
  3. Perform a Factory Reset before using the device.
  4. Please note that a compass calibration needs to be performed after installing the Firmware that activates the ATN Radar on your device. Please perform the calibration as outlined in your manual and away from any SMF devices, perferably outside.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Download the ***.bin file. You may need to create an account if you didn't create it earlier, and copy to your microSD Card — root directory.*
  2. Insert the card into the scope.
  3. Turn ON the scope.
  4. In the 'Firmware Update' dialog box select 'Yes' to start the update.
    For X-Sight II HD Series, ThOR-HD Series, OTS-HD Series, BinoX HD, Binox-THD Series, X-Spotter HD:
    If the device does not restart within 30 seconds after reaching 100%, remove and re-insert the batteries and power-up the device.​

    For X-Sight 4K BH Series, X-Sight 4K Pro Series, ThOR 4 Series:
    ​If the device does not restart within 30 seconds, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to reboot your scope.​
  5. When the update counter reaches '100%', the device will automatically restart.
    You must make sure that the batteries in the device are fully charged before updating. In the event of a power failure during an updated the device may need to be sent back to the factory for service.
  6. Once the device is powered up, it will enter self configuration mode.
  7. After completing it will automatically restart and will be ready for use.
  8. Once the Firmware update completes, please do a factory reset before using the product.
  9. Please remember to delete the Firmware File off of the microSD card after all steps are completed.

* Do not Open the BIN file on your computer as it may corrupt the file. Please only move it to your SD card's root directory.

You can update your system software by any of the following methods:

Update using a PC

Download update data using a PC and save on storage media* or a USB Mass Storage device. Copy the update data to the PS3™ system's hard disk drive and perform the update.

Instructions for updating using a PC:

  • A wireless controller
  • A USB cable
  • A PC with Internet access
  • Storage media (Memory Stick, SD Memory Card, CompactFlash)* or a USB Mass Storage device such as a USB flash drive (At least 195 MB of free space required)
  • * An appropriate USB adaptor (not included) is required to use storage media with some models.

Update data download procedure

  • Create a folder on the storage media in which to save the update data. Using a PC, create a folder named “PS3” on the storage media or USB device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named 'UPDATE'.
  • Download the update data and save it in the 'UPDATE' folder created in step 1.

Notice:

  • Be sure to save the update data as noted below. If the data is not saved in the correct way, the PS3™ system will not recognize the update data. The folder name must be in all uppercase letters.
    • Location: Save in the “PS3” folder > “UPDATE” folder
    • File name: Save as file name “PS3UPDAT.PUP”.

Update procedure

Notice:

  • Do not turn off the PS3 system or remove the storage media or USB device during an update. If an update is cancelled before completion, the system software may become damaged, and the system may require servicing or exchange.
  • During an update, the power button on the system front and PS button of the controller are inactive.

System Update

  1. Insert the storage media or USB device that contains the update data in the PS3™ system.
  2. From the home menu, select Settings (Settings) > System Update (System Update), and then press the Close button.
  3. Select [Update via Storage Media], and then press the Close button.
  4. The system automatically searches for and finds the update data saved on the storage media or USB device.
  5. Start the update.
  6. Press the Close button to start the update. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
  7. Confirm that the update was successful.
  8. After the update has been completed, go to (Settings) > (System Settings) > [System Information].
  9. If the [System Software] field displays the version number of the update, the update was successful.

Hint:

You can delete the update data from the storage media or USB device after the update has been successfully completed.

  • Use the update data included on a game disc to perform the update.
  • Update using the PS3 system's [System Update] feature
